Sustainability
Forty Hall Vineyard will contribute to the development of a sustainable local food economy for London.
A sustainable, local food economy has been defined by the Soil Association as "a system of producing, processing and trading, primarily of organic and sustainable forms of food production, where the physical and economic activity is largely contained and controlled within the locality or region where it was produced, which delivers health, economic, environmental and social benefits to the communities in those areas'.
Forty Hall Vineyard is registered as space with the new Capital Growth campaign. This campaign seeks to help Londoners transform the capital by creating 2,012 new food growing spaces by 2012.
